Great value family friendly B&B near Loches Loire Valley, France

ID: 335
This charmingly romantic and fantastic value bed and breakfast near Tours in the Loire Valley is in a great central location for visiting the major chateaux and vineyards of the Loire Valley. Tours is just 35 mins away and the chateaux of Amboise, Chenonceaux and Chaumont are all within a short drive. The Loire Valley vineyards of Chinon and the Touraine likewise.

Just 10 minutes from the Medieval town of Loches, the B&B is in a gorgeous rural setting with lovely gardens which look out onto farmland in all directions. The terrasse is an idyllic spot in which to sit with a glass of local wine and soak up the sunset at the end of a busy day of sightseeing.

Your warm and welcoming Anglo/French hosts have skilfully renovated their lovely old farmhouse to combine all modern day comforts with the inherent 13th century charm of the building.

They have thoughtfully incorporated a guests kitchen in which you can prepare light meals using the small oven, microwave or 2 ring hob and store cold items for next day's picnic in the fridge. You'll also find complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and even biscuits in the kitchen. The lounge area has comfortable seating and also a TV should the weather not be perfect during your stay.

Naomi's breakfasts are a real treat with home made jams, fresh bread, cakes, home made yoghurts and cereal - sure you up for the day ahead. The B&B is very family friendly and all baby equipment such as cot, baby bath and high chair can be provided if required. Free WiFi is available here and there is plenty of secure parking within the grounds.

We just returned from an absolutely delightful stay at this bed and breakfast accommodation in the Loire Valley The host and hostess are charming and welcoming, making us truly feel as though we were guests in their home. They have renovated the house to make it comfortably modern without sacrificing 13th century charm. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, with renovated bathrooms. This B&B is located in a gorgeous, quiet rural setting but still within easy reach of at least a dozen of the loveliest chateaus in the Loire Valley. We were able to visit two per day. I've never been to a B&B as charmingly romantic as this one. The house and rooms are beautifully decorated. It is surrounded on all sides by wheat fields, yet is near enough to the medieval town of Loches for restaurants, shopping, and touring the fascinating old town. The quiet is deep and relaxing. An outdoor sitting area allows for a quiet evening sipping wine and socializing with the other guests. The hostess, Naomi, is British and is always willing to talk at length about the house, the town, and the points of interests to tourists. She also very helpfully translated what French-speaking guests were saying to us at the breakfast table so we could get to know them. Naomi serves wonderful croissants (including chocolate!) for breakfast from a local bakery, as well as the most delicious homemade cherry jam I have ever tasted. We had wonderful dinners twice while we were there. Naomi is a fine cook, and the Friday night dinner was fabulous. She also makes all sumptuous the desserts herself. Her husband Francis, who is French, is the charming host. He serves the wine, carefully chosen to compliment the dinner. Our trip was made lovely, gracious, and romantic thanks to our stay at this accommodation. Book a reservation without fear - The Fusons

What a find! This place takes some beating. Beautiful, peaceful and welcoming, comfy room, done with impeccable taste. Delicious supper and breakfast. Please pass on our thanks, again, for making our last night in France such a luxurious one. We would definitely stay at this B&B in the Loire Valley again and will recommend to friends and family. - the Maine family

Perfect stopover B&B. Excellent accommodation and facilities. Great welcome and Madame delightful. Would very much recommend. - Mr & Mrs Price

We stayed for three nights at this B&B in the Loire Valley and would happily have stayed longer. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and very well equipped. There is a very peaceful garden and the lovely breakfasts set you up for the day! Our host recommended visiting Chenonceau and we were very happy we did. It's beautiful. There is lots to see in the area and we only scratched the surface while we were there. - the Tilbrooks
