ID: 582
For a bed and breakfast stopover near Limoges, this address is a gem. Located half an hour north of Limoges and a mere 9kms off the A20 autoroute, this B&B is just the haven of peace that you need to break your journey to your holiday in the south of France.

Cheryl who is British is well-versed in the art of hospitality. When you arrive she'll offer you a cup of tea or coffee and cake which you'll be invited to enjoy in the 2.5 acre gardens. You'll also find tea and coffee making facilities in your room should you wish to make your own drinks.

If you arrive early, take the 20 minute walk down to the local lake and man made beach where you can cool off in the summer months. The local town is just a 25 minute stroll down a country lane and is a great place for people-watching. But do stay for more than just the one night and explore the pretty local area - Lac de Chambon with its watersports and swimming possibilities, Gueret with its maze and wolf park, or, for a bit of culture, the Chateau de Boussac

Food is important to your B&B hosts and evening meals here are highly recommended. Dinner is taken on the terrasse on balmy summer evenings, accompanied by the sound of the cicadas and a backdrop of a glorious Limousin sunset. In cooler months, you'll dine in front of a roaring fire in the feature fireplace.

Breakfasts is a treat with fresh croissants, pains au chocolat and bread from the local boulangerie accompanied by homemade marmalade and jams along with locally produced Honey. You'll also be offered a choice of 3 cereals and fresh fruit of the season.

All bedrooms have not only a hospitality tray but also hairdryers, towels and toiletries. The bed have luxurious mattress toppers and quality bed linen - you'll get a good night's sleep here! The house has free WiFi and there is plenty of parking in the grounds.

One word EXCELLENT! - the Heads

We had a wonderful stay at Cheryl and Phil's B&B near Limoges. They were extremely welcoming - so much so that our evening there felt like a visit with friends. Our suite was perfect for a family and the room and evening meal were very good value. They were also lovely with our children - so much so that our 6 year old cried when we left as he wanted to stay for longer! We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. - the Goodwins
