Gorgeous boutique B&B in the Savoie French Alps

ID: 571
This simply gorgeous boutique chalet B&B in the Savoie area of the French Alps is in a stunning mountain location. It's a hidden treasure and a gem of a place for the outdoor sports enthusiast, summer as well as winter.

The picturesque little hamlet is only 30 mins from the ski resorts of Valmorel, Meribel and Courchevel and just 40 mins from the stunning lakeside town of Annecy.

What was an old barn is now an authentic and charming luxury chalet full of original features. There's a cosy comfort about the place with all of the modern luxuries and little touches that make you feel so totally at home.

Nikki (she runs cookery classes in the adjoining building) and Hugh (an ex pro mountain biker) will welcome you into their lovely home as a member of the family. Your shoulders will relax as the pace of life slows in this peaceful environment.

Between November and May, you can enjoy cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ski touring and sledging locally. In the colder months, you'll appreciate the under floor heating which will keep your toes warm when you return from a hard day of snowy adventures. Or sit in front of the open fire in the dedicated guests' salon, using the free WiFi to make friends and family back home jealous!

The Summer and Autumn are glorious seasons in the mountains with warm, sunny days and cooler evenings. From May to October (and often November) go trail running and hiking or mountain biking and road biking from the village. The col de la Madeleine is just up the road!

In the warmer months, enjoy your meals outside on a sunny terrace overlooking some of the most spectacular views in the French Alps. There's a BBQ for you to use or you could sign up to one of Nikki's cookery courses and enjoy dining on your own efforts!

Guests have use of a kitchen with oven, gas burners, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. The ground floor salon is fully equipped with a surround sound home cinema, Freeview, selection of DVDs, Playstation and access to a lovely walled terrace.

The beds in the guest rooms are all made up with quality bed linen, 100% woollen bed toppers, feather quilts and as many pillows as you want, not forgetting the bathrobes and slippers which are provided as standard. Oh, and have I mentioned the luxurious Occitane toiletries in the bathrooms?

If you have a baby in the family, relax as a travel cot is available here along with a high chair, baby quilt, baby bath, changing mat. Well-behaved and sociable dogs are also welcome

We had a great (memorable) holiday in the mountains. The chalet is a wonderful escape. After a day out for adventure and exploration its good to return “home”, to excellent accommodation, peace, quiet, and rest. Nikki & Hugh are the best of hosts, in all respects. Nikki’s cooking rates 5 stars (yummy!). Thanks for setting this leg of our trip in motion. - the Gladstones
