This old charming British-owned Charentais farmhouse, parts of which are believed to date back to the 1750's, is set in its own secluded gardens of over 1/2 an acre, with a swimming pool , in the hamlet of Le Grand Chevallon in the heart of the Charente-Maritime, just 20 minutes from the historic town of Saintes, 50 minutes from Cognac and just 30 minutes from the Atlantic beaches. Local activities include Golf (3 courses), Fishing, (off shore or river) Sailing, (off the coast or on the River Charente), Windsurfing, Horse Riding, and Walking. The quiet roads are ideal for Cycling. Accompanying animals are not permitted as the owners have cats. The accommodation is no-smoking. There is plenty off off road parking here.

Bordeaux is 1 1/2 hours drive via the A10 Motorway. Futuroscope near Poitiers is 2 hours drive from the house.

Just to let you know that the accommodation near Saintes was lovely - the rooms were great and the hosts very friendly and helpful. Only criticism was that we didn't stay longer.
