This is truly charming bed and breakfast accommodation on a 10 hectare vineyard wine making estate at Fuissé, near Mâcon in southern Burgundy. Macon is just 4km away, as is the TGV railway station on the main line from Paris. Guests arriving by train can spend a couple of days here without needing a car. You can get around on a hired mountain bike, and there's a good restaurant in the village
The wines produced on the estate include Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint Véran, Mâcon Rouge and Vins de Pays de Saône et Loire. The property dates back to the 16th century and has been sympathetically renovated to retain many original features such as the old oak beams and exposed stone walls. It is surrounded by a pretty garden from which a spring rises and in which breakfast is taken in warmer months. Your hosts will be delighted to help you explore the gastronomic delights of the region as well, of course, as their own wines - they offer wine tasting every evening from 18.00 hrs and the wines are available to purchase in their shop.
Guests have use of a large salon with books and games. There is also an 'espace détente' where you can enjoy a variety of Indian massages, including a reflexology treatment and a full body massage (extra cost)
Dogs are welcome. There are two restaurants in the village which is a 2 minute walk from the house. It is possible to hire mountain bikes from the village shop (www.ludisport.com).
The house is a no smoking zone. Free Wifi internet access is available throughout the property and guest rooms.
