This is charming English-speaking bed and breakfast accommodation located just 10mins from the port of St Malo and 20mins from the airport at Dinard in Brittany. The 18th century ' gentilhommiere' offers b&b accommodation in a rural location, set in 1.6 hectares of which has now been partly transformed into a courtyard and gardens giving a home to a great variety of birdlife, the occasional nomadic wild deer or duck, and frogs that live in the natural pond. The produce from the fruit trees and vegetable garden is used in the evening meals. The property is within easy reach of many places of interest including the medieval town of Dinan with it's rampart walks and pretty cobbled streets, Mont St Michel , Combourg which was home to the writer Chateaubriand whose chef invented the well known steak, and also Cancale famous for it's oyster beds and seafood restaurants.
The house has been sympathetically renovated retaining all the original oak beams, and is furnished with a mix of traditional and ethnic pieces. Guests have use of a large, comfortable sitting room with satellite TV, CD, Blue-Ray and video players. There are tea and coffee-making facilities in both rooms and WiFi internet access is available. Continental breakfast is served on the terrace and includes croissants and home-made preserves. The house is a no-smoking zone. There is a golf course within a 20 min drive of the accommodation and there is a horse riding centre within a short walk.

I just wanted to contact you to say that we have had a fantastic holiday in France and one of the highlights has been the discovery of the bed and breakfast accommodation near St Malo. You couldn't ask for anything more. The place is stunning. Our children were enchanted. The food that was prepared for our evening meal was delicious. And Sue & Steve, the owners, were so nice and friendly. Nothing is too much for them and you leave feeling totally and utterly relaxed and ready for your vacation. The best start to any holiday I've ever had. So much so that we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone, but part of us wants to keep this gem to ourselves!!! We will definitely go again.
